The Northwest National Marine Energy Renewable Energy Center (NNMREC) at Oregon State University (OSU) serves as an integrated, standardized test center for U.S. and international developers of wave energy technologies.  The center’s facilities include one of the largest and most sophisticated laboratories for education, research, and testing in coastal and ocean and sciences in the U.S., the O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory (HWRL).  NNMREC’s role in this partnership is two-fold, providing infrastructure and support services for both wave tank and open-ocean testing of the WET-NZ device.  Results of the wave tank and open-ocean tests performed at NNMREC will be utilized for device and array optimization, increased system reliability and survivability, and improved forecasting of wave energy resources.
